Hi Les,

If you are willing, I would be willing to get a d-star radio and try it 
out. It would probably be worthwhile to do a little experimenting and 
see how it deals with our valleys.

I'm not at all against digital anything, I'm just opposed to an open 
radio standard that requires a closed and single sourced component to 
implement. But I don't mind spending a few bucks and seeing how the 
technology works.
