[WARC] Balloon w/ amateur payload

I hooked up the beam to my APRS to see if I can pick it up at all. Sure wish
that the liftoff would have been on Saturday. I would have liked to have
either flown or drove to the event!

Flight Description:
A cross band repeater, APRS system, and FULL COLOR ATV system.

This mission is the culmination of a whole month long series of
activities in Richland Center, Wisconsin.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik, and in effect
the first 50 years of space flight!
Teachers & Students from all over southern Wisconsin are scheduled to
attend this final day of activities,
Known as the "Richland Space “Fare” Featuring Honored Guest Astronaut
Mark Lee at the Richland Center High School.

Join Richland area students (estimated attendance is close to 1000
students and their teachers) in welcoming
Mark Lee, a Viroqua native and veteran of four space flights. This event
is also open to the public.

Festivities begin with a high altitude balloon launch by “Near Space
Sciences”, student exhibits,
and a special presentation by Mark Lee.
Lee is a former NASA Astronaut and resident of Southwest Wisconsin.

Launch Date: October 23, 2007

Launch Time: 8:30AM CDT

Flight Duration: 3 to 4 hours

Payload Contents RF:

ALL SIGNALS WILL BE VERTICALLY POLARIZED.

APRS on 144.39 Standard APRS format, 300 mw vertically polarized. Call
WB9FDZ-11

Cross-Band Repeater, Standard NBFM Mode, 144MHz/440MHz 3 watts
vertically polarized.
Cross-Band Repeater Frequencies:
Up-Link 144.320MHz Down-Link 439.250MHz.

Color Amateur Television. Vertically polarized, 439.250 MHz.
This will also have our mirror system where we will be able to change
the view from the payload. From down to the Earth, to out on the
horizon, to even up to look at the balloon.

Local Repeater coverage, at the launch site, The Richland center
Repeater 146.91 (-600) PL 131.8
Chase & Recovery Repeater, The Yellow Thunder ARC Repeater 147.315
(+600) PL 123.0

We will also be broadcasting "Live" on the internet the audio from both
the payload as well as the local launch site, and chase and recovery
repeaters. For anyone to listen to. We will be using "Shoutcast"
