Hi All,

WXSpots 1.0 is now available! In addition to lots of miscellaneous
cleanup, features new to 1.0 include:

- The ability to block posts from specific users.

- The ability to connect and/or minimize to the system tray directly on
startup (important if you add WXSpots to your Windows startup folder).

- The color coding as described yesterday:

Red indicates that a serious, life threatening event is happening right
now that requires immediate action. The report will be red if:

Tornado is anywhere in the report
Earthquake is anywhere in the report
The report begins with the word Emergency
The report begins with the words Red Alert
The report begins with the words Severe Weather

Blue indicates a report related to a serious, life threatening event of
longer duration, where there has been at least several hours of advanced
notice such as a hurricane. The report will be blue if:

Hurricane is anywhere in the report
The report begins with the words Blue Alert

Green indicates that the serious event is over. A report will be green if:

The report begins with the word Test.
The report begins with the words End Severe Weather
The report begins with the words Green Alert.

For all of you who have been beta testing, _before_ you install version
1.0, please do the following:

- Start your current beta version and make a note of your user name and
password.

- Close the program and uninstall it from Windows Control Panel.

- Start Windows Explorer and navigate to c:\program files\WX Spotting Log.

- Delete _all_ the files in the directory.

- Then go to www.wxspots.com <http://www.wxspots.com> and download and
install the new installation package.

Finally, I can't thank all of you enough for your help with the testing,
suggestions, support, kind words and encouragement with WXSpots! It has
been a lot of work these last few months, but with all the enthusiasm,
and since we have already had over 850 users create an account, I'm
optimistic that it will be worthwhile.

As always, your continued suggestions will be very welcome. There is a
lot that can be done to enhance the software, but I think it has come
along far enough to see if the concept will prove itself out. Once
WXSpots appears to be on solid ground, I'll be happy to
incorporate additional suggestions into future releases. In the mean
time, please spread the word about the software!

Again, thanks everyone. I hope you enjoy WXSpots!

73, Scott
