[WARC] Compare Crimp Tools - Anderson PowerPoles

I did some experimenting tonight, and came to the same conclusion as
the link referenced in this thread:
 >When crimping or soldering Powerpole contacts, it is important that
the outline of the contact barrel not be exceeded, otherwise the
contact will not insert properly (i.e., "click") into the connector
shell. Therefore, any contact barrel deformation resulting from the
crimp process must be easily correctable.

Although my first attempt did snap in nicely, the contact was too
low, resulting in low pull-apart force. I assembled two more sets,
by inserting the wire and soldering, no crimping. When soldering I
was very careful to not get any on the outside, especially the
"bottom". The solder I did spill I filed off. I was also careful
to not bend the terminal. I was using paired wire, and I was also
careful to assemble the contacts in the correct orientation, so they
weren't twisted when fully assembled. With this technique, the
pull-apart force was almost on par with the Molex. Lance or Len
mentioned that some people jamb a tooth pick into the pin hole to
keep them from coming apart. I would worry about messing with one
that came apart in the middle of the night at a flood and getting it
wrong. ZZZZaaappppp! That could not happen with a Molex.
