A few more interesting tidbits regarding Anderson power poles, mostly
from ARRL eNewsletters:

The ARES configuration is easy to remember: "Red Right, Tongue Top."

Eric N3EF has been converting his power connectors to Tyco/AMP Power
Lock connectors <www.mouser.com/catalog/627/1063.pdf> to increase the
pull-apart force. These connectors also mate with Anderson
Powerpoles. The Tyco/AMP connectors have an 8-pound disconnect force
as opposed to 3 for the Powerpole low-detent and 5 for the
high-detent. The PowerLock-Powerpole combination has a 6-pound
disconnect force.
