The Winona Amateur Radio Club is offering pre-packaged kits of Anderson =
Power Pole connectors for sale to area hams at very affordable prices. =
Kits for 15 amp, 30 amp or 45 amp size connectors are available as well =
as a set of general-purpose cables/adapters and one of the commercially =
available Power Pole crimp tools.
Power Pole and other components are provided essentially at cost by APRS =
World LLC, with Russ N0QK providing a gift of Molex connectors for some =
Molex to Power Pole adapters which are part of the cable set. Assembly =
and kit packaging are being provided by club volunteers at no cost.
The Power Pole materials are offered to all area licensed hams--persons =
need not be a member of the Winona Amateur Radio Club to take advantage =
of this project. Details and order forms are available on the club =
website, www.w0ne.org <http://www.w0ne.org> . The items will be =
available for order up through September 19, 2008 and available for pick =
up shortly thereafter.
The club is sponsoring this project in support of the adoption of =
Anderson Power Poles as the preferred ARES connector including adoption =
by surrounding ham radio groups. All amateurs interested in emergency =
communications should consider taking advantage of the project to make =
the transition to Power Poles. Some advantages of Power Poles vs. Molex =
connectors in addition to ARES adoption include higher current capacity, =
genderless, higher insertion life, better contact wiping action, =
compact, and greater versatility (multi-wire configurable).
Pricing and other details are on the order forms available through the =
website. Please visit the website at www.w0ne.org =
<http://www.w0ne.org> and place your order soon!
