[WARC] Field Day 2008 Planning

Here is a brief update regarding planning completed and planning yet to 
go for this year's Field Day.

Location:  Winona Sportsmen's Club
Date:  Sat - Sun June 28-29, 2008
Time:  Operation from 1300 Saturday to 1300 Sunday local time.  Set-up 
Saturday morning about 1000 hours.

We are planning a Class 2A station this year--two HF rigs.  We hope to 
devote part of the time of one rig to a "Get-On-The-Air" station on 
Saturday afternoon.  QSOs made by this station count towards the total 
score.

We will also be operating a VHF station courtesy of Matt, KF0Q.  (This 
is a "free" station in the scoring classification scheme.). 

Russ N0QK has tentatively agreed to provide a demo station showing off 
the capabilities of Amateur Television.

I plan to do the public relations promotion and special promotions to 
elected officials, services organizations, etc.

We sill need some VOLUNTEERS to do some planning for at least the 
following areas:

1.  Food coordination.
2.  Logging plan and score tabulation after the event.
3.  Provide HF rigs and related support (ground rods, etc.).
4.  Antennas (Matt KF0Q has offered a Butternut vertical for the day). 
5.  Power source -- off mains.
