I spoke with Pete Sweeny, DEC Southwest WI, a short time ago and
this is the update.
* Vernon County has been deactivated.
* Richland County has been activated as of 1245 today.
* So far there are no requests for mutual aid.
* Additional rainfall has started in the southwest part of the
state which will make the situation worse.
Please continue to collect the information about your response
teams. Although there are no requests for mutual aid now does not
mean tomorrow or Tuesday there will not be. It looks like it will
be a very wet week in Wisconsin. Perhaps it can swing to the north
where they need it!

Report 1, June 8, 2008, 0930
Everyone,
Vernon County ARES/RACES was activated this morning at 8:30
a.m. It is unclear what the mission is, but it is to support
the area's flooding problems. National weather service storm
total radar shows six to eight inches of rain has fallen in
Vernon County since yesterday. As you may recall, Vernon
County was hit back severe flooding last August.
To prepare for a potential mutual aid request, please do the
following:
o Communicate with your teams about the activation.
o Ask for individuals who would be able to travel to
Vernon County (south of La Crosse) to support the
mission (mutual aid response teams)
o Document the response team volunteers with the following
information
+ When can they activate and for how long?
+ What resources do they have?
+ Do they have any deployment restrictions (health,
physical disabilities, etc.)
