FW: [WARC] Interesting Numbers

Hi,

THN's point is the club itself doesn't do a thing, the members do it. And
Jim Browns point is that this should be an interesting activity, and Russ'
point is that we should query non-members instead of member to figure out how
to get the non-members interested and somebodies point (I lost track of who)
that said that most organized activities ( churches and other orgs are
suffering in the same way.). I think all of you are right to a great
extent. To a certain extent our society is willing to accept and use all
this techno magic and doesn't give a hoot how it works and is quite willing
to complain when it doesn't. The people in the club for the most part care
how it works and can often figure out why it doesn't.

The federal government ever since 911 has known that communications is the
most significant problem in disasters and only wants to throw more dollars at
more sophisticated and fragile technology. Until our society and leaders
understand that the people behind the technology is the most important
element then we all will suffer from malaise. I don't see this discussion
as deteriorating but simply progressing in directions that seem logical given
the history of the art and the history of our country in the last 13 years.
