Hello Everyone,

The June club meeting will again be at Dick N0VV's Mississippi River
cabin. This year, we will have a Heathkit HW-8 QRP CW portable station
operating as W0NE for your pleasure. Bring your own key to make some
QSOs with this popular rig from the late 1970s to early 1980s. An
assortment of straight keys will also be available if you prefer.

In addition to the QRP station, the meeting will be an opportunity to do
some coordination for Field Day 2008, which is June 28 & 29. We will be
at the Winona Sportsmen's Club this year. Plans for the basics provided
by the club are coming together. A separate e-mail will be going out to
bring you up to date on details.

At the June meeting, we will also do some planning for the GRSF Special
Event Station, callsign N2B, on July 5 & 6. Arrangements are beginning
to fall into place for for this fun operating event also.

Dick’s cabin is located on the river just south of Winona. To get there
go south from the highway MN-43/US-14-61 intersection in Winona (the
last set of lights) on highways 14-61 for a distance of 4.1 miles. There
is a break in the median there and an exit that crosses over the tracks
and then turns left (upstream) for about a block. Dick’s cabin is
visible from the highway as you approach the turnoff. Please be careful
when crossing the tracks!

The usual 7:00 PM start time applies.

See you next Thursday!

73,
Len KC0RSX
