Jeff.
Do you have transmit capabilities, receive capabilities, or both?

Hello Russ,
If you would like to power up your ATV equipment and run some tests I should
be available this Saturday afternoon.
Thank you,

Plans are moving along well for this year's Field Day. 8-)
As covered in a previous e-mail, the station with be a class 2A entry with
an additional VHF station allowed per Field Day Rules
<http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2008/fd.html> .
The station will be at the Winona Sportsmen's Club (see ARRL Field Day
website for map). Set-up time is mid-morning Saturday, June 28 (approx
10:00 AM) and operation will be 1:00PM CDT Saturday to 1:00 PM Sunday, June
29.
There will be a demonstration of Amateur TV courtesy of Russ N0QK. We will
also devote one of the two HF stations to Get On The Air operations on
Saturday afternoon.
The Winona County Sheriff's Department is providing their mobile
communications trailer with generator for the event. Thanks to Sheriff
Brand for the support!
The club has a rented port-a-potty lined up for Saturday night, but the
Sheriff has offered the use of the toilet in the communications trailer if
the club would empty and clean the unit after we are finished. Would
someone (familiar with RV operations, perhaps) be willing to help with these
responsibilities? Any expense would be reimbursed.
There will be the usual publicity through local media plus a special e-mail
promotion to elected government officials and service organizations we
support (Red Cross, etc.). A letter to recently-licensed hams inviting them
to the event is also planned.
The club is trying to provide the general planning and support this year,
with individuals back filling the details. Here are some of the major
needed items. Please respond via the reflector or direct to me if you can
commit to any of the following, KC0RSX at arrl.net :
- Someone to coordinate logging and scoring.
- Someone to coordinate Sunday breakfast.
- Second HF transceiver.
- HF dipole system (two desired--we already have a vertical Butternut
offered).
- Someone to get gasoline for the generator (approx 10 gal.--reimbursed by
the club)
- Power supplies for the two HF rigs.
- HF antenna tuner for an FT-847.
Some additional notes:
- At this time, we have one generator--the back-up/alternate power sources
would be batteries or other sources provided by individuals, so bring your
individual batteries or other sources please.
- Supper Saturday evening will be Dutch treat. Someone usually makes a run
for pizza. Anyone with a different idea or offer, please let me know.
- Bring your own sun shades, chairs, tents, sleeping bags.
I plan to be available after net tonight for planning questions or resource
offers on the 146.835 repeater. We can work on planning some more at the
club monthly meeting on Thursday evening.
72,
Len KC0RSX
