Here is a brief summary of the equipment general plan for Field day 2008.
ITEMS STILL NEEDED:
- Someone to bring gasoline for the generator(s) - will need approx 10
gal total.
- More HF antennas (see below).
- Antenna tuner for Kenwood TS-850S (possible need--being clarified)
- Receiving station for ATV demo (possible need--being clarified).
- Someone to provide call sign for the GOTA station, when operating.
THINGS TO BRING:
- Feed lines
- Grounding rods
- Extension cords
- Batteries for back-up & for alternate power supply
- Usual adapters, interconnects, wire, etc.
- CW keys, mics, earphones, foot switches, etc.
The club will be operating Class 2A (2 HF rigs + one VHF station). We
will operate one of the HF stations as a GOTA station at the beginning
of the contesting time and as long as there is interest.
We have the two HF transceivers, one automatic HF tuner, two power
supplies. Matt KF0Q is providing the VHF station complete.
HF antennas in hand are a Butternut 40/80 meter and a 10/20 meter
inverted V "tee-pee" antenna with 31 ft mast. WE COULD USE MORE
VERSATILITY HERE--ESPECIALLY ON LOWER BANDS FOR NIGHT OPERATION.
We have two gasoline generators-one with the Sheriff's Dept trailer and
one other.
Logging will be done with three independent PCs running NA logging
software. IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE LEAD IN INTERCONNECTING THE
PCs INTO A LOCAL COMPUTER NETWORK, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Sincerely & 73,
Len KC0RSX
