Hello,
Here are some of my notes from testing echo link today.
K0BAD had a station set up with Echo Link connected to his 2 meter radio on
the 146.835 repeater.
I had my station set up with Echo Link connected to my 2 meter radio on the
146.640 repeater.
I then connected my Echo Link to K0BAD's Echo link.
Les then was talking on a 2 meter hand held on the 835 repeater and I was on
a 2 meter hand held talking on the 64 repeater and we were able to
communicate with each other.
During our testing I tried using Echo Link on both my Desktop and my Laptop
on my network. It did not work.
>From the outside world both of my machines have the same IP address (from
the ISP). So when my laptop tried to connected to Echo Link server the
desktop finished the connection. To get this to work the outside world needs
to see two different IP address.
Where this would be a problem is if we wanted to set up multiple Echo Link
computers in a Command center. We would need a separate IP address from the
ISP per Echo Link computer.
Thank you,
Jeffrey Hosch
