To all,
Ran some tests tonight of the repeater transmitter and am
quite happy.  I have not tuned or tweaked anything in the
way of adjustments to the exciter nor 20. W. amplifier. 
Just ran them "out of the box" (actually they have sat on a
shelf for 3-4 years) into the previously mentioned old coax
and damaged antenna.  Received excellent signals (broadcast
quality) monitoring it mobile with an omnidirectional but 7.
dBd gain vertical out to 12 miles and readable (viewable)
snowy signals out to 16 miles but lost the color about then.
 By my calculations my goal of very good mobile coverage
(full quieting audio and good color) out to Rochester and
stationary (30 foot tower with a "tv antenna sized beam")
coverage out to 60 miles is very achievable.  The audio
quality on these things is great, ya got almost as much
bandwidth to play with as an FM broadcast station.
