[WARC] Power Pole Transition - Supported Agencies

Hi Len,
My option is that we should not contact them, but should be prepared to
install connecters to their power supplies to accomodate our equipment or
better yet bring our own power supplies.
The reason for this opinion is multi-fold:
1. We will probably not get full agreement with our customers and therefore
any committment will be slow in coming.
2. We do not want to cause any more comittee meetings etc for our customers.
3. We do not know at what locations or what equipment we will be
interconnecting with. If we anticipate and think we are covered then we may
be complacent when a real emergency starts, because the equipment we planned
on will be at other locations.
4. It may be years (hopefully) before we will need to interconnect
equipment. We do not want to monitor every equipment change at our customers
and keep changing out connectors as they change equipment.
5. If we are prepared with an assortment of pre-configured power pole
adapters to common connectors and if we carry spare connectors, spare wire,
with crimpers then we should be able to make a connection on the fly in a
real emergency no matter what equipment shows up. At that point a committee
meeting will not be necessary or desirable.
6. If we bring our own power supplies then, we will be able to plug them in
with a standard three prong plug. If we do not have power then we will need
our own batteries and generators.
