Just a brief comment for those who are interested
My favorite from the list is the semi-automatic key. I never call
them that but they are the group of iambic keys know to others as
paddles
The Bencher tends to be one of the most popular models of this iambic
key but is available from a host of others world wide including
vibroplex.
For futher reading on the subject N1FN does a great job on his webpage
which is posted as a link at the Morse express page for adjusting
straight keys paddle and bugs.
As for the Cootie
Len is the first person I have heard use that term which as it turns
out is a popular name for the non iambic variant of the paddle. In
over thirty years of collecting keys I had not heard of the cootie
until 2009. In spite of that I seem to have at least a half dozen of
them in the collection.
