[WARC] Antennas

Good morning
Several years ago I spoke with the city engineer about the
installation of a tower within the city limits of Winona.
The city at the time did have on their books some reference to
structures that limited the height of 35FT. I explained that the
tower I wanted to put up was actually 45FT but was capable of being
raised/lowered and that for the most part may be at the 22FT level the
majority of the time.
Their seemed to be little concern at that time; believe it or not I
was actually reminded by this person of my rights as a radio amateur
that I could install antennas/towers and such.
It was somewhat refreshing to meet with reasonable people.
Unfortunately the budget for the project slipped beyond my means and I
never installed the tower.
The city has always been easy to work with; I would recommend that if
you are considering a project that you contact the people in
inspections; they can steer you in the right path. Issues such as
setback of a structures from streets/lot lines are things that they
deal with all the time.

Good luck on the project
de
Matt
